CPD For Counsellors

Do you feel ill-equipped when working with a client who self-harms? Are you new to working with self-harm, or newly established in private practice? Do you feel out of your depth or are you referring on as soon as self-harm is disclosed in the therapy room?

This course aims to build counsellors' confidence to work safely, ethically, and competently with clients who self-harm, while supporting clients in understanding and reducing their self-harm behaviours. It aims to provide a robust foundation for counsellors who are approached by clients - or parents/carers - seeking support around self-harm.

The course is particularly suited to counsellors who want to move beyond hesitancy and referral, and develop informed and professional responses to self-harm disclosures.
